Jason set up the photobooth, he is a clever one.

While we were in Opotiki we slept in a caravan by the sea, ate a lot of brunch and drank glasses of wine filled right to the brim at the local pub. A few more pictures tomorrow maybe.

Merry Christmas! Hope you’ve had a lovely holiday season. I myself have had too many Christmases, all of them far too merry. First was our flat Christmas, where we ate roast chicken and vegetables, pulled pork, slaw, tomato gratin and trifle, as well as lashings of sangria, which we followed up with the traditional Christmas film Point Break.

Jason’s work Christmas party was so much fun that I was in bed until 3pm the next day, on which we had our first flat bbq. Christmas eve we flew to New Plymouth and had Christmas dinner with Jason’s family. Turkey, tender roast beef, polenta chips, greens, madeira and white wine sauces and more trifle. There was Christmas morning brunch, then crepes for lunch, and off on another plane to Auckland for my family Christmas dinner. Ham, barbequed salmon and haloumi, fancy sausages, Mum’s famous potato salad, beetroot and feta salad, confetti salad, green salad and slaw. Oh and cheesecake, fruit salad and Grandma’s pavlova.

Yes, I ate ALL the foods that have ever existed. Not to mention drank all the wines, and stayed up til 4am with my brother and uncle being ridiculous. Oh dear!

Jason and I went for a nice big walk in Cornwall Park today, and I should probably go on a couple of those a day before we head back to Wellington. Especially since there’s still so many leftovers to get through!

How was your Christmas? Did you get anything nice? I’m very happy with my massive haul of books. As soon as we get back to Wellington we’re leaving again for five days at the beach (and no internet!) so I’ll be needing those for sure.

Last week we had a party themed around the letter K to celebrate Kim moving into our flat. Can you tell who I am? The little friend on my broom is the main giveaway. I bought him in Japan before I even knew what he had to do with! Two years later I’m watching a movie and there he is onscreen, I love it.

Jason set up our photobooth for the occasion, it’s going to be excellent for all our future parties. Kim has lots of pictures on her blog if you’re nosey.
