Last Friday my flatmates and I held a Prom and it was pretty awesome.

I got new hair that day (also, this is a really good photo of me. I don’t look like this)

The Letter K

Last week we had a party themed around the letter K to celebrate Kim moving into our flat. Can you tell who I am? The little friend on my broom is the main giveaway. I bought him in Japan before I even knew what he had to do with! Two years later I’m watching a movie and there he is onscreen, I love it.

Jason set up our photobooth for the occasion, it’s going to be excellent for all our future parties. Kim has lots of pictures on her blog if you’re nosey.

Then things got super fun and crazy. I was going to dig out more party photos but I’m tired so I’ll leave you with this gem. There’s some great photobooth pictures I gotta post too but that’s Future Kate’s problem now! (Damn you past Kate! – Future Kate)

Oh! And. Huge kudos to Pia who made the amazing & delicious cake! And to my bridesmaid Emma who made my dress in the midst of starting flight school – whatta gal! While we’re here, all of my bridesmaids Emma, Jane, Caitlin, Natalie and Liz – the best, cheeriest and most helpful bunch of ladies ever. Thanks also our flatmates for putting up with the crazy and being the bee’s knees. To Jason’s groomspeople Fiona and Sebastian for a hilarious speech and so much support. And to ALL our friends and family (but especially Ma & Pa), for all the help they gave us and for making our wedding day AMAZING with their AMAZINGNESS. I’ve never felt so loved and I’m full up with gratitude and happy. Seriously, best day ever.

We can now return to our regular broadcasting schedule! What a relief.

Bachelorette, Part 1

Last thursday evening I had the divine pleasure of attending a tea party thrown to celebrate / commiserate my descent / ascent into married land. One month from today you guys! T’was masterminded and decorated by the amazing (and obviously major stylist material) Lizzie, with help from other bridesmaids Jane, Natalie and Emma (although Caitlin sadly couldn’t make it to Wellington – miss you!). Beautiful photos are by Jason, who was promptly kicked out after these were taken.

I had no idea what to write for my first post so I thought I’d share some pictures of the delicious cupcakes my boyfriend made for my last birthday.

Cookies and cream, off the chain. Please note our homemade cupcake holders constructed of plates, mugs and film canisters.

Strawberry, and in the background, chiffon cupcakes. The tablecloth was made by my Ma when she was 15 and I’ll have you know I did not spill a single drop of red wine on it.

S’more cupcakes! Sooo good.

And of course, the amazing Gator Cake! Made by Lizzie.
