Jason and I probably won’t be exchanging rings when we get married, but wouldn’t it wonderful if we each made something a little like this and exchanged them in the ceremony instead? Afterwards we could keep them in a beautiful box together, or on the wall in a vintage frame.

Oh ! Apparently I’m not the first person to think of this, as I just found this picture too.

All by the amazing Lyndie Dourthe.
And while I’m being gross and sentimental…

I love things like that, non-traditional wedding ideas. Those are beautiful. It needs a fancy shadow box!
Oh !!! Les chats !!! I love them, so cute !
Cutest kitty pictures. :) That is a cute idea, the heart you’re showing in the photo is much nicer than the ones in the boxes!
I AM IN LOVE WITH THOSE KITTIES! Almost as in love as they are with each other. I think your idea of exchanging hearts at your wedding is great. My husband and I actually did a little ceremony where we placed pendants I’d made from semi-precious stones on chains, recited what each stone meant to our relationship and then gifted the necklaces to our mothers to honor what our family brings into our marriage. It was a surprise for them and worked out very well!
Hello! Cute blog :) I am getting married in 6 months! Why did you decide on not wearing rings?

I heart your idea! And oh my goodness, those cats are too cute!
i think that’s the greatest idea! i’m going to share it with a friend that’s trying to do something different too:) cuteee!
This is not gross but certainly is sentimental – which is one of my favourite things to be :) I’m interesting in why you aren’t swapping rings? I like it. I’ve always said I never wanted an engagement ring but never thought to go all the way and stop with the wedding rings too.
catherine_sr – That’s so lovely!
Julie – Congratulations!

There’s a few reasons we probably won’t have rings…
Firstly, my engagement ring is a very nontraditional and large cocktail ring, and a wedding band would hardly fit next to it as well as look quite silly.
However, I sure am not opposed to owning more ridiculously large cocktail rings. I would be happy to have a ring to wear on another finger, but I’m very fussy and we are time-poor as well as, um, poor.
So we thought, lets not give ourselves another thing to do. If we decide we want rings (Jason can’t make up his mind at the moment), it could be really great to exchange them on our first wedding anniversary.
Lovely! And those cats are gorgeous (and incredibly sweet). I really like your blog which i why i want to award you the Sunshine award which you can pass on to other bloggers :) Congratulations!
oh what a simply dainty idea! a much more personal wedding exchange than the traditional ring swap. OH MY those kittens are sweet.
