I haven’t been around much because I’ve been spending a lot of time drawing things. It’s been fun.
You know what else is great? Lists. Today some friends and I sat around listing things we dislike. It was actually really fun since I spend so much time talking about nice, lovely, positive things! A rant every now and then can be enjoyable. My favourite list was thus:
Things I don’t care for that are meant to be fun and other people are nuts about: board games, card games, fireworks, magic, comedy, children (except babies), gig, going to the beach, watermelon, drugs, icecream, monkeys, banana cake. This list basically makes me seem like a horrible person. I’m going to try to like scrabble though! Maybe it will be a gateway game.

Haha, Katie, how can you NOT like board games and icecream? :) And don’t worry, it doesn’t make you seem like a horrible person, but certainly an odd one! :) Lists are the best, you’ve just inspired me to go off the computer and write a list.. Perhaps we should start it as a revolution- have everyone take at least half an hour off bloggin one day and write a list( crazier better! :) and then they could blog it! :) (I can’t live without blogging!) haah! Lovely drawing as well!
I am not a fan of card games, it seems that I never seem to learn how to play them! And ditto on monkeys, and going to the beach. I am so glad I’m not the only one. And no this list doesn’t make you sound like a horrible person!
Your drawing is great! I love pen-and-ink drawings. I’ve often thought that social networking profiles should have a “dislikes” space. I’d probably have more fun filling those out then telling people what my interests are!
I love to make lists too, when I first visited your blog the first thing I noticed was your 26 new things list – in fact, you have inspired me to create one for myself :) well done you.
Filipa – I can’t explain why i don’t like board games – I guess I’m just really bad at them?? Ice cream just doesn’t do it for me, I’d rather have frozen yoghurt or a milkshake. Weird huh! Lists certainly are grand! Do you know the listography journals? Great ideas for list making!
Elle – I never seem to learn how to play card games either. It seems like you need to invest a lot of time into it to learn all the games, and I’d just forget how to play them again after a few weeks away from it.
Catherine_sr – Thanks and I agree about the dislike space!
Louise – Glad to have helped inspire you to make that list! Have you posted it online anywhere?
Oh that was a good list! But, banana cake? Really, – I forgot that one.
