Five Things to Love #5

1. I’m a total latecomer to Clever Nettle, Anja’s charming blog and vintage store. Actually, two vintage stores at the moment. Have you ever seen a more adorable backdrop?

2. Hooping

Yes, still! At my last class I did a shoulder stand into a backwards roll while spinning a hoop on my foot, something I never ever thought I could do! I may still look completely gumby doing it but I’m quite proud of myself. Here is a raunchy burlesque & hoop video of my hoop teacher.

5. BOOKS. The paper, the cover design, the fonts, the smell.

Some of my favourites that I’ve read this year.

What I’ll be doing with my books when I’m rich enough to buy as many books as I like.

I loved Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. And I lived with someone who liked to colour-code their bookshelf, but it doesn’t work for me. I like the randomness of a shelf stacked with books of different heights, textures and colours.

  2. Kate says:

I’ve never actually seen any colour coded books in real life, but I think it’d be a great way for me to remember what’s where. I never remember author’s names but always remember the cover.

  3. Elle says:

I love Jonathan Safran Foer’s books! :) And yes, sailor dresses are too cute!

  4. Margie says:

I am super impressed with your hoop skills!

  5. Ane says:

I also love strawberry blonde! I don’t understand why all my friends who are natural red heads colour their hair when its so beautiful!

    And books are <3 too!

nice things to fall in love with.

i encourage you to just go ahead & try this with the books you already have (:
first, i thought i would never have enough books to get a nice colourshaped bookshelf done, but i just tried & it turned out fine! sometimes even a small bookshelf looks better when it is arranged by colours. look what i did to my boyfriends cooking bookshelf:

    he obviously is missing blue books, but hey, nobody is perfect (;

just go ahead and try, eben if it’s only your cooking books, or dictionaries or novels. just try, it’s fun. it’s amazingly easy to find books again, even if you have more than 500, believe me ;D

  7. Kate says:

You’re right Martini, I should just do it!
    :)
