Five Things to Love #4

This Five Things post is kind of a cross between that and a Things I Love Tuesday, in that some stuff is more specific to my life than cool stuff to see on the internet. What a confused blogger. But I am a happy girl that wants to share.

1. My Neighbour Totoro

My new favourite film is My Neighbour Totoro. You have to see it: there is a catbus for goodness sake. It’s the first Miyazaki film I’ve seen but right now I’m curled up in bed next to my flatmate’s Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle & Princess Mononoke DVDs – yay. I feel like a whole new world’s been opened up to me!

2. Cosiness & time alone

I love me some winter cosiness. I’m in bed with tea, laptop, films & True Blood, new copy of Influence, electric blanket & stuffed animals Rupert & Atticus (red panda & rhinoceros respectively).  The only thing that could make this any better would be prettier linens and blankets. Luckily my Momma is making me a granny square blanket! isn’t she wondair? She sent me this picture of her progress.

3. Sweet Mothers Kitchen

I love them so much I’m asking them to cater our wedding. I recommend:
- curly fries with both creole mayo & bbq sauce to double dip in
- pulled pork po boy sandwich or fajitas
- all the delicious tacos, esp beans or fish
- bourbon mash & creamed spinach sides
- pie! I haven’t tried many but what I have had was top notch

4. Strong women with crazy style.

I love Zooey and little girl dresses as much as the next Lula reader but sometimes it’s necessary to be intense, tough, over the top, ridiculous, passionate and a bit scary.

5. Last but mos def not least, please meet the shoes I will get married in. I bought them at below half price today and they will live unworn on the mantelpiece til next Feb, except maybe on my birthday. Oh boots, I’ve loved you so long.
