We went to Christchurch last weekend and it was really fun! We stayed at So Hotel, I’m gutted we didn’t get any photos of it but our awesome room was so tiny the moment we walked in there we’d messed it up. We spent the first day op shopping and after the first three places we tried to find appeared to have been closed down, we changed our focus of the trip to eating as much food as possible. I still found good second hand gears, just not as much as I’d hoped. All photos stolen from Jason.
So who knew Christchurch is fantastic for food! Demetri’s Souvlaki is famous for good reason, I’d never have thought a kebab-type-thing could be so delicious.

Honeypot Cafe did amazing $8 breakfast muffins with egg, bacon, avocado & hollandaise – great since we ran out of money after about five minutes.

There was a plethora of cheap & chearful japanese restaurants which was grand. We ate at Samurai Bowl, but were later told Osaka is the best. This is the lane Osaka was down, full of asian restaurants.

Cartel was my favourite bar. One would think I get enough of drinking beer outside on old couches at home?

It was in Sol Square, where we also went to Yellow Cross & Fat Edies. Both were decent, aside from the alleged ladies lip shaped urinals at Fat Edies – not cool. There were plenty of great looking bars I’d love to have tried but funds were running low, plus I got Jason too drunk on shots at the crazy russian vodka bar.

Night time Sol Square.

Daytime.
But Lyttelton is the best.

Chicken shanks at Satchmo’s. So good I can hardly stand to look at this photo. Which is why it’s taken me two days to put this post together.

Smoothie & banoffee pie at Lyttelton Coffee Co. Amazing also.
Lyttelton is so pretty. I could live there in a heartbeat.

Beautiful photos, Kate :)

I love your angled shots. I do that too, thought I was the only one. Yours are bright and boisterous. I love them.
